Love & Beauty Red with some striping

Posted by yoshi2560 at 2:34 PM Labels: China Glaze, Gradient, Love and Beauty, red, review, Song of the Day, Stripes

Alright, so I'm celebrating the end of a long and disappointing football season with the celebration of my favorite color (shhh, it's a secret), and the most hated color of my university: RED! I pulled out a red in my collection that I never really use, it's by Love and Beauty, the Forever 21 brand. Originally when I started getting polish from there, I was skeptical but I was pleasantly surprised. The quality is actually pretty good! Their polishes have great colors, are well pigmented, and dry in a good amount of time. This is their cooler red crelly that is only named "RED."

Read on for some more swatches, a review, and some nail art.

Pro's:
  • Very pigmented, this could be one thicker layer, but I opted for two layers to smooth out any imperfections.
  • Dry time was quick
  • Dries relatively shiny
  • Love & Beauty is very affordable, at $2.80 each in stores and online at Forever21.com
Con's:
  • Without topcoat, it dents pretty badly (downside of a crelly)
  • There was the slightest visible nail line
  • There are a lot of reds on the market. The color isn't unique but it's still pretty.
Overall, I'm giving Love & Beauty's Red an A-! Definitely worth checking out this brand though, the polishes are surprisingly awesome.

On top of this, I decided to do some really subtle nail art. This is what I came up with:

So we've got some China Glaze Go Crazy Red sponged over the Love & Beauty Red in a gradient over some striping tape, which made this cool subtle geometric design. I actually really liked this one and got a lot of compliments on it.

Song of the Day: Crazy In Love by Beyonce (today's Pandora station at work was all about the early 2000's pop)
