Life After Christmas

Posted by yoshi2560 at 3:24 PM Labels: Glitter, Gold, Gradient, Kleancolor, Lippman, review, Song of the Day, yellow
Happy New Year's! I'm currently in Arizona with two of my best buddies for vacation. We drove the 13 hours down here a few days ago and I just got around to posting. The weather has been a little bit chilly and cloudy, but we have had a great time regardless! Especially with In N Out in our bellies. Yum. Here's what I have been wearing for the past few days. I have a review and then a glitter gradient to show you, so keep reading after the break.

This is my first Kleancolor polish that I got for Christmas. It's called Metallic Yellow

It's a super metallic yellow glass/frost. It was opaque in 2 coats, which I was really surprised with, I thought it would take forever, but it was actually pretty good. The formula was mostly good, it was really smooth but you could see the brush strokes pretty clearly as it dried. After it was all the way dry, they weren't as noticeable, but they were definitely still there. The dry time was also pretty slow, which I didn't appreciate. At all. I'm impatient when there are cookies to eat.

Pro's:
  • Pretty color
  • Opaque in only 2 coats!
Con's:
  • Dry time is really long, it stays tacky for a long time.
  • Brush strokes are easily visible
Eh. It's a really pretty color that is must more yellow than other golds you'll find, but the dry time is a big issue for me. So I'm only going to give it a B. But then I decided to add a glitter gradient, which is my favorite thing ever. So I pulled out my Deborah Lippman Happy Birthday (a classic) and used that as a gradient. It looks kind of bad in the pictures but it was actually really pretty in person! I kept this on from Christmas until today, so it lasted a really long time (partly due to the road trip and the vacation haha).

Song of the Day: I Dreamed A Dream by Les Mis (Anne Hathaway from the new movie. We just went and saw it today and it was absolutely phenomenal. Highly highly highly recommended)
