Color Club Metamorphosis

Posted by yoshi2560 at 11:09 PM Labels: Black, Color Club, Duochrome, French tips, review, Revlon, Song of the Day, Swatch, Teal
First week of classes is almost half over! Since it's only the first week and I'm taking less classes than usual (even though they're hard classes) I feel like I have so much time. But just because I have time doesn't mean I have had the motivation to post anything. So here I am watching Face Off (the only show I watch religiously because it's AWESOME) and working on this post during commercials. The last polish I wore was beautiful but it kind of paled in comparison since I so recently did a teal metallic foil that was BEAUTIFUL. But I just got the Color Club Take Wing Collection and this is the polish I was most looking forward to. I even had an occasion to wear it! This is Color Club Metamorphosis:

Keep reading for more pictures and the full review!

So in the bottle, there is a beautiful duochrome between teal and blue and purple, but that barely came across on the nail. You can see it barely in a few of the pictures but I was pretty disappointed with the difference between the nail and the bottle. It's still a beautiful, multifaceted glass finish though. This was 3 coats, but the last coat really didn't make much of a difference. Two coats would have been fine, especially since there is still some visible nail line (more noticeable in the pictures than in person). The formula was perfect and easy to apply. No complaints there! The dry time was a little longer than average, which is tough when I'm constantly busy.

Pro's:
  • Slight duochrome
  • Great formula
  • Two coats for opacity
Con's:
  • Dry time was a little long
  • The color in the bottle is a tease for the color on the nail
I would like to give this color a better grade since I really really liked it (I kept it on for a full 5 days!) but it really should only get a B .

The last day I wore this color I realized that I had an event to go to and I was going to wear a dress that almost exactly matched Metamorphosis, so I added some Revlon Black Lingerie tips (I was in a hurry) and out the door I went!

Upon review I wish I had done a black lace design but when I decided what to do I really didn't have time to figure something out. Still matched though.
