One of the bloggers I follow definitely posted about the Urban Decay Friends and Family sale (20% off on everything!), which meant that I got my hands on that coupon code. My bank account is pretty upset with me, but I just got the message that my package was delivered and I almost started hyperventilating. And I (being the brat that I am) decided to tell my roommate about it, and she definitely spent some moolah too! After some discussion between the 2 of us, we decided on what we would get.
She decided on the Naked 2 palette, since she has a fairer complexion than I do, so the taupe colors would look better on her. I decided on the original Naked palette (both palettes are $50 originally), since I have more of an olive skin tone, which means the darker browns would be perfect. And then I decided that the browns and neutrals weren't exciting enough, so I got a few of the vintage eyeshadows on sale ($6 each before the discount!) that were brightly colored, so I was very excited.
With shipping, I ended up paying $56! So I was absolutely thrilled.
Read on for details on what I got in my package!
Alright, so first of all: the vintage eyeshadows (from left to right):
The first is Dashiki, an electric blue shimmer. On the Urban Decay website, it says that it has a luminous sheen with no glitter. I'm actually wearing it right now, as soon as I get around to it and don't have these giant bags under my eyes, I'll get around to some pictures of looks I've made with each of these shadows.
Next is Aquarius, an aqua green with shimmer. I am super in love with this one
The last vintage shadow I got was Psychedelic Sister, which is a deep amethyst shimmer. This one seems to have less shimmer than the other two, but it's still definitely there.
Now on to the Naked palette! I know there are a lot of posts about this palette, but I'm really excited about it so bear with me.
So here's the listing for what shadows are included: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustled, Creep, and Gunmetal. As you can see in the below pictures, the palette comes with a flat brush that I LOVE. The bristles are soft and it really pats on the shadow very well (granted, you don't need to pat with these shadows, but if you want a more vibrant color then you can). I haven't used it for my lid, but I've used it a lot to line my eyes and to create the outer V.
