Milani Purple Gleam

Posted by yoshi2560 at 11:00 AM Labels: Glitter, Milani, purple, review, Song of the Day
Happy Halloween weekend #1! We definitely have had a good one so far.  There are days that I absolutely can't believe I'm in college and this weekend definitely was one of them.  However, it really made me realize that I could not imagine being anywhere other than where I am right now.  It's a great feeling to feel like you're where you're supposed to be.  Anyways, I didn't do a Go Buffs mani this weekend, just to keep up with the spirit of Halloween, so instead I'm showing you what I was wearing earlier this week.

When we went to LA we went to a CVS across the street from the hotel we were at. I was halfway across the store when I glanced at the Beauty section (always a bad idea) and noticed the Milani display.  My heart almost stopped as I ran over and discovered all the nail polishes were on sale. I'd been looking for Milani polishes for a couple of years, as the brand isn't in Colorado. And thank goodness it isn't, I know where all my money would be going. So I picked up the color I'd been wanting for years: Purple Gleam.

This is with tipwear from 3 days
Read on for more pictures and the review!

Purple Gleam is one of Milani's One Coat Glitters that they came out with a while ago.  It did take 2 coats to cover up some splotches, but it was still a very good glitter.  As you can tell, it's a purple microglitter with some black microglitter in there too.  It's incredible.

Pro's:
  • Only 2 coats!
  • Great drying time
  • Just look at that color and tell me  you're not impressed. I dare you.
Con's:
  • This thing EATS topcoat.  I used 2 coats but I've read reviews where bloggers have used more than that.
  • As any glitter, it is hard to remove without getting glitter all over everything. I would recommend the aluminum foil technique to getting it off.
For those reasons, Purple Gleam is going to get an A! I really really wanted to give it an A+ but the topcoat thing brings down the grade. However, I'm still ridiculously ecstatic about this polish, I can tell that it's a new favorite.
